About Us

My son started at Smart Start, Clearfield just after they took over from the previous owner. I have been impressed by the many positive changes they have made to facility to make it is safe and comfortable environment for the children. We have tried other daycares in the area, and I can say, by far, Smart Starts teachers and management have been a breath of fresh air. They take the time to understand the children that attend their facility. They put forth the effort to make the children and their families feel welcomed. My son genuinely enjoys going to this daycare. He loves his teachers. He loves the many activities they do. I am so glad my son has found a place where he is accepted as the wonderful boy he is and he feels included. I feel confident my child is well cared for, safe and supported.

My 5 yr old and 3 yr old have been coming here for over a year now and they are doing so well! My 5 yr old is so ready for kindergarten. They have the coolest class pets and art projects and they did the cutest birthday celebration for her last week. My 3 year old is a tough one. He's got big feelings and has been struggling with potty training and they have continued to stay patient and consistent with him. He is not an easy child but he still makes progress here at this daycare. It's slow, so slow it doesn't seem like progress, but I've noticed, and I'm so lucky to have them. I live in West Haven and work in Ogden but the extra driving is worth it. Wouldn't take them anywhere else.

This is the best daycare I have ever seen! The facility is so clean and we love every single staff member there. After moving from California to Utah we weren’t sure where to start, after having a terrible experience we found Smart Start. When I called the owner, Shandi, answered the phone and immediately eased our minds. Everyone there treats my son as if he were their own and I never worry at drop off. What’s even better is that my son loves going there and learns something new every day.

They are very patient and gracious with my 1 year old, who needed a few weeks of adjusting after experience her first big move into a new state. She’s used to getting all snuggles when she’s overwhelmed and sad and the infant teachers were always soothing her while still caring for the other infants. And now my daughter is thriving and having fun because of the structure they offered. I even see a difference at home with her development and confidence in verbal skills. The staff are kind and close knit and attentive to all the kids under their care, even remembering the parents’ faces as we walk through the door. I feel assured my child is safe and happy there, I highly recommend checking them out!

My little one has been going here since the summer. I highly recommend taking your child here. My child had food allergies and they made accommodations for him. There hasn't been any issues so far and they do very well at keeping you notified- when you pick them up. I appreciate the reports and how informal they are. The staff are funny, open minded, and nice people. I like how they are a great team and get your insight on your child and their behaviors. I appreciate this daycare and am glad my son hasn't regressed in his knowledge. He has fun everyday and loves his teachers-he has cried because he doesn't want to leave when his favorite one is there. ... I feel completely confident and comfortable leaving him here while we work. Thank you for such a phenomenal job!

The owners, Marcie and Shandi do their very best to work with parents. They are always looking for new and better ways to get their staff continuous training in the field. They took have extensive certifications and degrees in this exact profession. They have worked with me as a parent on more than one occasion.
